Always try to be cautious when your opponent has no pieces that can be moved.

Why did White want a draw??
Loomis
I don't think white wanted a draw. White made an error at the end of the game. That's the moral of the story. Don't be too greedy that you take pieces before knowing the consequences.

He didn't.  He made a mistake by capturing the rook.

I see!

During the replay, my connection hesitated for a few seconds during the Nb6-c8 repetitons and I had thought the game ended there.

Thanks.

White didn't want a draw, it was stalemate

Lommis is right I made a error
ChessSoldier
why didn't the game end after threefold repetition? Moves 16,18,20 are all the same w/ black to move, the same w/ white to move, and the same on moves 17,19,21.

Well, that's what had me confused.. I though it had ended, and I couldn't figure why White would have allowed that to happen.

But a draw by repetiton must be claimed. It's not automatic.
