Opponent Rating at Time of Defeat

I beat someone with a 1300 range rating but I'm credited with beating a 1067 player in my stats and "best game". Since I was playing and beat a 1300 player, why am I credited with beating a 1000 range player? I understand the RD concept and that someone's rating at the time of the game ending is used. But why is my impact on their score from that game considered?

It does seem strange.  I think you are credited with a 1067 player because that may be his new rating (although he started out as 1300, but losing to you drops it to 1067).  Also possible is that he started out as 1067, and by the time you beat him, he was 1300, but now has lost points again.  This occurs at the high boards as well.  I'll beat some 2100 rated players, but get credit for much lower score.  It works in reverse as well.  Players who beat me do not take my maximum rating, but a much lower rating.

we need to fix this so that BEST WIN is the rating of your opponent at the END of the match. thanks for pointing this out!

Thanks Erik.  It's been like this since the beginning.  I thought you might have set it up that way to keep the ratings lower.  But it would be more accurate to use the rating of the opponent at the end of the match.

A question along the same lines - my mind might just be playing tricks on me, but I swear sometimes my opponent's rating will change in mid-game, due to the result of other games they are playing concurrently. Could this also cause the situation described by Reservesmonkey?
