I can confirm that it's a legal move. I guess do ctrl-F5 to refresh everything, close your browser and try again. If all that fails it's likely a bug, so contact support.
System won't let me make a valid move
Thank you. I tried loging in via another machine and using IE (instad of Google Chrome which I was using on the netbook) and it let me make the move. Weird!
Its possible that different browsers develop issues with www.chess.com. For example, on the same laptop I can now make the move OK from (see above), I used to use Firefox to access chess.com, this worked for a few weeks, but then it would not let me logon to chess.com. Very strange.

There are certainly browser-specific issues e.g.
Analysis Board window too small under Google Chrome
Google Chrome refusing to Insert Pictures
and there is also the fairly common experience (across all browsers) of the board not displaying correctly or completely: (usually solved by cache refresh).
Since your intended move involved a pop-up (to let you choose the new piece), it is exactly the type of situation in which the various browsers might behave differently.
and i too had a choice between promoting 2 different pawns and it would show the promote selection screen and i tried clicking every possible peice it could be promoted too but the game simply would'nt allow me to do so

That didn't work, it STILL won't let me move.
Hi, I am playing a game where I have the choice of promoting 2 pawns to a Queen. In analysis mode the system lets me promote, but on the game board the stem lets me promote but then moves the pawn back to where it was revering he Q back to a P. I have Legal moves checked in Analysis mode and I am not in check and by moving the pawns I am not putting myself in check.
Has anyone else experience4d this? Do you know how to resolve the problem?
Thanks,
Ervin
