*Divulge.
I also follow this practice. I once missed a Queen sac because I was not paying attention.

I have been trying to get my hand on an official rule book for a month, and now you tell me there is one online?
As far as I know, you dont have to tell your opponent your last move (he can see the board after all) and you also dont have to tell him the moves if he has ticked his moves off in a time scramble. This can technically result in him losing through not having kept a correct score of the game.
OK me and my father were playing chess just now and he wasn't looking at the board or anything (at the TV) and he missed my turn he did not see me make my move. After he turned around he looked at me and asked "What'dd Ya Do?" I said "YOu sould have been lookin' you'dda seen my move" he said "Tell me the move or the games over" i said "It's your fault you were not looking at the board when i made my play" what i did ws i moved my bishop into a nice little position to get his queen but if i told him where i moved then that would be the end of that strategy! Was i right in not telling him my play? Is it a rule that if you dont see the play then thats tough luck for you?
