I have no problem with the banners, i mean come on Erik and whoever else has spent a lot of time effort and i'm sure money to create what is one of the best chess sites i have senn and i have seen several. The problem is some people will bitch about anything , you get to play on this site for free and you are still not happy. My guess is those that compalin about the ads have never tried to create something along these lines. Try playing on one of the other sites that charge for everything under the sun and you will appreciate the work Erik and his crew do so you can have a free site to play on. In closing i would just like to say to Erik keep up the good work, you have a wonderful site and if some people don't like it well you can't please everyone but there are a lot of us out there that really appreciate the work you put into this site.
A few years ago, before we started our own business, I were employed by a huge multi-national pharmaceutical company, Pfizer, as a sales rep.
Our sales conferences were always held at absolutely posh venues, with live entertainment every conference night and usually buffet types of dinners and open bars every time. Usually we had Wednesday afternoons at leisure and we were allocated a certain amount of money to each reps room account to spent on absolutely anything.
I found it very interesting that there were always a few people that found something to complain about. We stayed in absolute luxury, ate like kings and queens and still some had the audacity to complain. Every conference we got conference gifts (the likes of DVD players, digital cameras, Ipods etc) and usually every product manager would additionally give their reps gifts, and yet, yes you guessed it, some were never happy about this or that. To such an extent it was that, at the beginning of the conference we were handed out a list with gifts to choose from and at the end of the 5 day conference you got your stuff.
Some people can simply not be pleased... It's sad though, because the rest of us had a FANTASTIC time!
Amen, Markle! If you want to see annoying ads, try some of the news sites, like USA Today. I'd rather have Garry's stare than that mess any day. Besides, he's not looking at me, he's looking at a camera.
My Complaints About Chess.com
- No one lets me win.
- Garry is always mad.
- That lady from the banner ad keeps calling me "macho."
- Erik won't turn down my bed at night and leave a mint on the pillow.
- King_William hates women.
- I don't like "free."
- The chess pieces are too small on the turn-based games and look nothing like Simpsons(R) characters as they were advertised to look like.
- Global warming is slowing down my typing and making Loomis look like he photoshopped his pic on his profile.
- Not enough people are downloading the FREE BACKGROUNDS I made for this website. (Look on the downloads section.)
- Not one of you, NOT ONE OF YOU, has agreed to buy me an iPhone, but you keep saying how funny I am. Listen, the funny can't go on forever being FREE like this website is. Pay me or I start talking about sexist banner ads. Seriously.
NOT TRUE! Not true at all. I love women! I just expect them to follow my rules without question, like a good girl should. Simple really.

Ohhhhhh the sweeeettt smell of tension. Without it we'd all be boring replicas of each other. Gotta love the diversity on this site.
Garry scares me into playing better. He keeps watching me. I stare back at him but he just won't flinch. I must play better!
