Threefold repetition

Could someone look at this game and tell me how I was supposed to claim "Threefold repetition" (FIDE article 9.2?)

The rule is that if you repeat a position three times you draw. You only repeated the same move three times... no draw. You lost fair and square.

FIDE 9.2:

The game is drawn, upon a correct claim by the player having the move, when the same position, for at least the third time (not necessarily by a repetition of moves)

  1. is about to appear, if he first writes his move on his scoresheet and declares to the arbiter his intention to make this move, or

  2. has just appeared, and the player claiming the draw has the move.

Positions as in (a) and (b) are considered the same, if the same player has the move, pieces of the same kind and colour occupy the same squares, and the possible moves of all the pieces of both players are the same. Positions are not the same if a pawn that could have been captured en passant can no longer in this manner be captured or if the right to castle has been changed temporarily or permanently.

There was no way to claim a draw by threefold repetition. The exact same position has to be seen on the board three times. This never happened. You can't just move back and forth three times. The opponent would have to as well.

The three identical positions can happen with any number of moves in between them as well. Also, all the same possibilities have to be present to each side, including en passant and castling.

By the way, a three-fold repetition draw usually only occurs when material is almost equal and both players cooperate:

Thanks guys, fairly new to chess so I just needed to read the rule carefully. Position, not movement was what got me.
