Time glitch causes me to lose games

Anyone ever been waiting for your opponent to move, only to refresh and suddenly the clock had been on you the whole time? This happened multiple times and yes my internet connection is stable. My most recent game I watched my opponents clock run all the way to zero, once it hit zero, the game didn’t end, it froze instead, after refreshing the game, the game was still active and I had nearly no time left on the clock, literally went from 5 minutes to 20 seconds. Has this happened to anyone?

it just happened to me, my opponent blundered his queen and I took. he had 7 mins left and he never played, his time kept going down. I figured he quit and was gonna let time out. so I waited and suddenly I get timed out from 8:00 to 0:00 as my opponents move never registered

This happens on IOS mobile, I don't recall if this issue ever occured on a web browser, but its happened numerous times on mobile.

This happens to me often last days. 50% games lost on time because of that. Hope they will fix it soon

There was a bug identified in a couple of iOS app versions. There's a fix released in version 4.7.17

This has been happening to me a lot lately. It’s really frustrating. I most like won’t renew my membership if it isn’t fixed soon.

If you're using the iOS app, there is a fix

Just happened to me again on iOS. App version 4.7.17. Opponent blundered, I watched his clock run down, suddenly I’m at zero and I’ve lost the game.

Clearly hasn’t been fixed.

Are you absolutely sure you are in 4.7.17?

KingMoored

I think the newest version of 4.7.17 doesn't automatically update. I had to go to the App Store and find the Chesscom App and manually select UPDATE.

Great_King_Rat
No, initially it said it was the latest version, but then later on it said it needed updating, so I guess it wasn’t 4.17.7
