Let`s go, report this to chess.com staff!!!!!
Vote Chess matches are ruined for teamplay
My understanding is that this is a known bug and a fix is coming. I do not have an estimated time line.
I algree strongly I have sent numerous bug reports thru chess.com channels and have rarely seen a timely response, if any at all.
Why this essential/valuable functionality was removed is truly baffling. Please enable it again.
See my comment #44. It's a known bug, and a fix is coming. I just don't know when.
As a former vote chess captain of 5+ clubs, I certainly support this. All of the three points my friend Christ brought up are certainly valid.
Staff who wants to decide on VC features should play VC as captain, and with a lot odd voters and cheaters in the team.
I would not second "much", but both click-first and even sabotage happens at times and errors in big teams and with new VC team members who are yet unaccustomed to the local modus operandi.
I e.g. recall a resign vote from parting club member when the game had just started and we were equal or better. It turned out that vote was cast in error, but only after finding out who voted so and asking him/her about it.
So (at)CC: We vote chess captains need the features in question. It's not wisenheimer griping like that red on the widget is not red enough or one could do it all differently and better, but a necessity for proper vote chess team play.
So will this stream get seen by chess.com support, or will it too get no efficient technical response??
Agree !!!
I noticed the changes !!
They must take them back . The vote chess platform has to be more informative
Agree with the OP. Chess.com has had plenty of time to fix this bug. What is the delay???
On top, that voter disclosure feature had already been functional for quite some time. Thus the code exists.
And unless that had a huge server-side tracking and marketing profiling rat-tail (what would be quite bizarre) that cannot be so difficult to re-enable w/o side-effects.
I guess nobody stays indifferent with this lousy piece of programming by chess.com, especially knowing that it has worked well for many years before and then they fixed something that wasn't there
"if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" is a well known saying, one that the management of this site needs to take to heart.
Instead they seem intent on changing all manner of functions on this site and I'm not sure why. The consequence is often that things work less well by the time they've finished.
As an example, would anyone describe the 'redesign' of clubs as an improvement? I wouldn't. The so-called improved match-challenge still makes the "Minimum Games" setting invisible - what use is that? That's also on the list to be fixed but how long is that going to take?
This site can break a really useful feature in seconds but seems unable to fix them in months - it's becoming exhausting.
Sometimes players are mixed with the other team...I have experienced twice that all players were placed on one side of the board while the other side was empty. So I aborted the games, and reported a bug to chess. com.
