Vote Chess matches are ruined for teamplay

"..I am still with chess.com... so maybe it's not so bad after all"

It could & should be quite a bit better! In all the years I've been online, I've never experienced this level of features on a site that are either broken or don't work as they should. Like many others here I also belong to other chess sites and they're all flawless in the way they work., compared to this one.

And even basic testing doesn't seem to be done. I brought this up before and it's a perfect illustration - when the match-challenge tool was 'improved' (ha-ha), no one on the development team seems to have bothered to check that all settings were shown.

The result is that it's impossible to see the 'Minimum Games' setting which many leagues require, so receiving teams cannot tell whether challenges have been set up correctly or not.

This is schoolboy-level ineptness and what makes it even worse is the complacency with which we're often treated.

Point 2 on the Agenda - DRAWS are not seen

I checked the match (see link in my previous post) after the turn via archiv tab

and was able to see the number of DRAWs selected

so at least this is visible here happy.png

Summary

- I can see who did the move vote votechess

- I can see the draw votes after the turn votechess

- Can I see the draw votes also before the turn? Has someone a VC match and can check

- I cannot see who did the draw votes

It`s a good start, but still room for improvement happy.png

Works for the first vote but not for other votes for the move. How about some more checking.

Can you link me to where you are seeing this not work?

Tricky_Dicky

I think it probably was a leagacy issue. Since then the newer votes do seem to be showing member names.

I just voted for a move and offered a draw in this game.
I see the move, and can see who voted for it. (As of this writing my vote is the only one). That's great.
I'm not seeing the draw offer.

Andrea

Thanks for feedback @Bramblyspam

most probably you are able to see the amount of draw votes after the turn

It is better if you can see the number of draw (or resign) votes during the turn.

But even after the move, you cannot see WHO voted for the draws.

Could we ever see who had voted for draws or resigns? I don’t remember.

Bramblyspam

I'm pretty sure we could never see who voted for draws/resignations.
That would be a nice feature to have, but other bug fixes seem more important to me.

Andrea

In the past all was visible and it would be great to have this state again

Here's another one. I just voted in this game. As of this writing, there are 5 votes for one move and 1 vote for another. I can see who the 5 voters are, but not the 1.

I have had a lot of problems like that also. So have my teammates in the games.

I think this is normal when you have a fix announced like this: "A fix was released this morning. Please let me know if you continue to have issues."

Just not precise enough.

I joined the game. You can’t see who voted for the 1 vote. Would it have been before the fix?

MaxtonJHo

You can see who voted for what and when... after voting, you can click on each voted move and see who voted.

Possibly. I see a jdcannon post from two days ago, saying a fix was released that morning. Our opponents made their move 2 days and 6 hours ago. So the mystery vote may have been cast before the fix was implemented.

Does the chess.com staff team have any plans to allow players who have not voted to see votes?

jackityjackjack

In some teams I used to be in, they would have one player just go ahead and vote for something random right away, and then post all the votes that happened periodically.

Ximoon

That is an option you can chose when creating the VC game. So it already exists.
