Sidenote: I did not tell my opponent about this.
I purposely sold a game to an Iranian chess player. Is this bad?
ummmmm... who knows if this guy even cares about his president lol
true but most would
it's a bit racist of an assumption, I know.
Nah you did an incredible thoughtful and kind thing, you increased his epeen by +8.
He doesnt give a damn, its just a casual game. Unless it was close family, he doesnt give a crap about his president either. You're just seeking validation now, if you truly cared so much you wouldnt be seeking approval from random internet strangers that also dont give a damn, instead would've used the chat and added him as a friend.
Have a nice evening

I was not trying to be racist

Well... sometimes small things matter
I feel like it didn't matter.
but my opponent did in fact play a brilliant
it probably wasn't a big deal, and it was just one chess game, I guess it's really fine since I proceeded to lose more

I was referencing me... Not necessarily in a bad way, this is more neutral.

Magnus CArlsen once said that some people think if their opponent played a good game (or like in your case a brilliant) it is okay to lose, but he does not think like that

i considered that, but I sold before the brilliant. I was actually trying to sell to a draw but I blundered the endgame because I'm not smart
The most previous chess game I played, I was in a completely winning position up a bishop and a pawn. But since Iran's foreign minister and president (Ebrahim Raisi) were missing (now confirmed dead), I decided to intentionally sell the game, as I thought he have might been going through some tough times and situations. Does this make me a good person for caring about the person or a bad person for cheesing the system a bit? (I know that people can just choose which country one is from)
bro what? I bet if the opponent sees this, he'll laugh his a** off of you. pity i can't elaborate more as i may get restricted

well... that's what I was thinking at the time :/
I only tried to sell it to a draw but I sold it to a loss because of my a** endgame skills
I’d say it goes against the spirit of the game. Resigning just to make you opponent win isn’t really why one should resign, or at least that’s my undestanding of that feature of the game.
I’d say it goes against the spirit of the game.
And it also goes against the laws of the game.
Not to mention that it's the dumbest possible explanation of why someone would cheat. Just because some politician died? One of the leaders of a ruthless dictatorship?
