I have programming time alert plugin and it work fine with Firefox and Chrome browsers.
Can choose seconds and sounds. Is realy help me avoid dropping flag.

The low time alert at the ten second mark is too quiet.
No way that I know of to change this or change when it occurs.
I can only suggest that you use a kitchen timer and set it to 1 and 3/4ths of the total time (total time is your time + opponent time) in order to possibly help a bit in longer time controls.
