Alternatively, or additionally, it would be nice to have rapid arenas with increment. There are blitz arenas with increment too. Something like 10+2 or 10+5 keeps the games moving quickly but would eliminate the silliest dirty flags.
There’s an earlier related thread https://www.chess.com/forum/view/site-feedback/please-make-10-2-a-standard-time-control and also some Reddit discussion (on 10+5 but that’s similar) at https://www.reddit.com/r/chess/comments/1c8n2ik/why_isnt_105_a_more_popular_time_control/ .
Just a suggestion, I think we should add 10 | 2 to the main rapid time controls. Not the ones where you have to click custom to find them, but rather the main time control menu. I think we should do this because I think many people would like a rapid time control with an increment. For learning, sometimes 10|0 can be a bit too quick. Yes, there is 15|10, but sometimes the games can go on forever and not everyone has the time for that. Same with 30 minutes. And I do know that if you click custom you can also choose between 20-minute, 10|5, etc. But usually, it takes a while to find someone actually playing those time controls and this is especially if you want to play a set rating range. Even 10|5 can also be a bit too long if you get an opponent that plays moves really quick. I think chess.com could just add 10|2 as a beta feature and see how the users like it. Again, just a suggestion.
