Lost a 5/5 Blitz game this morning after 4 moves each. Dropped the connection, wouldn't re-connect & timed me out!! This is so annoying. I have had issues with dropped connection many times on this site, the most annoying was a Blitz game where it dropped the connection when my next move was an unstoppable checkmate! Grrrrrr!!
Solve the lag problem, chess.com
2023 and still losing so much time because of other player's pings. From stealing 16 seconds off my clock to refusing to premove with while seconds still on the clock. Chess.com is a trash app
I've been playing quite sometime now on several machines and locations. Sometimes it works great, sometimes really bad. I stop when it's bad. But I've noticed someting new in the last few weeks. My last second(s) dissappear /changes instantly to 0 sec. after my opponent makes his/her move and I loose the game. Strange. Other sites are better I agree but chess.com is more fun when it works. Be patient, take the losses, your rating keeps often quite stable.
1. Is there a way of ascertaining whether it's chess.com's servers rather than the user's own wi-fi that is responsible for dropped connections?
2. What lag is deemed to be accepatable? I seem to lose a lot of games where I get timed out 1 second or so AFTER I make my move.
3. How can you ascertain the lag for each of your moves?
4. Why doesn't chess.com (or even Mr McGleason, he kindly often responds on other threads) ever reply to the points raised in this thread ?

I don't know the exact reason, but I do know they have politely answered this same question many, many, many times before.
Thanks for the reply IfPatriotGames. Could you show me where I can find any of their answers please?
