urgent help!

If the game is still going you shouldn't be asking for help as that is basically cheating. Sorry.
This is correct, my suggestion would be to spend some time, think about your move, play the game out. Then, when the game is over, bring it back here and re-post it, there are several people here who would be glad to show you what you can do to improve.
Nooo don't tell me this! I've never played in my life, and I'm basically learning on the job here! It's a very friendly game we're playing here.. between two friends. ...I'm looking for some good hearted helpful tip (singular).
I've always wanted to learn how to play and this is my first game.

You can't ask others for advice on a game in progress. That carries penalties for you and "helpers"... potentially upto a forfeited game and closed accounts.
If your opponent is a friend and it's a casual game, why not ask them for help? I've lost more games than I can count... it's nothing to be embarassed about. Take some time to think about your moves and have fun. After the game post in the "Game Analysis" forum and we would be more than happy to suggest improvements. :)
Ok I'll give you an helping hand
On the opening you should develop your pieces and get control of the center either using pawns (classic) or the pieces themselves (Hypermodern)
I'll sugest the classic aproach if you are learning
Also, make sure all of your pieces are protected against threats
Guidelines for your next/future move(s):
Have a plan,
make the best moves,
do not create weaknesses,
recognize and take advantage of your opponent's weaknesses
There, that should be useful and helpful to you for your specific game moves.
after the game is over, then discuss specific choices you made with others. We cannot comment about your moves until after we know your plan, and, since you say you are a beginner, we don't know what your plans are.... other than illegally solicit advice on a game in progress.
