Suffolk Long Island New Club

Hi all . . .

I am in the process of establishing a 'Suffolk County Chess Club' on Long Island, NY.  It would be based in the Three Village Area (Setauket/Stony Brook).  Currently I am speaking different entities about space and other issues.

I am setting up an affiliate with USCF and hope to make it a little more than just a meet-up as the club hopefully grows.  I also want to make it a welcoming place to play for beginners, intermediates, and experts alike.

Hope to get this running by October of 2022.

Greetings Keith:

Please note my post on Chess.com regarding all current venues on LI and Queens myself and several other players meet up at. You may consider coming down and meeting with some of the local LI chess players and spreading the word.

Center Reach library has a club meet every Friday from 6-9pm. This is also known as the Middle Country library. In addition we also have a strong meetup at the Brightwaters library in Bayshore on Thursday nights from 6-9pm.

Note that a Collège of mine has a current work in progress with the Lake Grove town hall in this regard.  If you wish to chat some time shoot me an EMAIL at [email protected]. Hope you can get something going- I'm sure I can assist.

I know this is an old post, but in case anyone is still tuned in, the Long Island Women’s Chess Club has been meeting 3x a month for the past year and a half. We play friendly casual games for women. But we also host a go-Ed meet up at the Main Street Board Game Cafe the third Sunday of each month 3-6 pm. These events are really fun and the venue is so nice.
