In the old system I was punnished for mistakes. I believe it is strongly important. I feel that I am puzzling more quickly because I have nothing to lose. Is it configurable?

Your rating is still changing but you don't see that in the new feature. You can disable that feature using the settings icon at the top and toggling it off.
Turn off collect puzzle points to go back to old version
