Capture the Queen
@Mickdonedee, how have you been on chess.com for 3 years, have diamond membership yet not have a live rating?

Just too lazy to learn opening theory. Without opening theory, I'm probably limited to a peak rating of 1800. By learning opening theory I could push that to 2000+. For now, I'm happy to do puzzles and play bots.
Opening doesn’t matter, as long as you don’t blunder
Unfortunately, opening theory does matter because move order is critical in the opening.

Trust me, it doesn’t matter. Also learning openings is actually pretty easy. You don’t have to memorise any long, complex lines, just a few moves, like this:
Even if you make some dubious moves like this:
You shouldn’t expect opponents to accurately convert their “Advantage”, unless you give up material

#648 "Knight on the rim is dim", so the saying goes.
So if you know that, in actual games you won’t play it! You probably have more opening knowledge than you think! Also, if you still aren’t confident, puzzle access isn’t the only feature that diamond membership gives you, there are lessons, drills and much more, that all could help you improve.

I have definitely improved since picking up the game three years ago. But, everyone has a natural plateau. Once reaching that, the only way to improve is study and practice. I should do more lessons and drills.
The best way to improve is to actually play games. You haven’t played a single game in almost a year, and what’s the point of “improving” if you don’t actually play a game?
