Capture the Black Queen in 4 moves to control the back rank.
Capture the Queen
This is a very complex position with Black pieces well defended. White will have to sac some pieces to break through Black's defence to capture the Black Queen in 9 moves.
Capture the Black Queen in 8 moves.
Why have the solver play all those moves when the queen capture is already assured after white's second move?
I wonder, too…
It's not apparent, but taking the Black Queen and Black Rook gives White control of the back rank that finds checkmate much sooner than taking the Black Queen earler but leaving the Black Rook controlling the back rank. I've edited the puzzle instructions with extra detail.
