CHESS PHILOSOPHY - I CHECK THEREFORE I AM

About two or three days ago I played a game where I got one major piece ahead then the other fellow launched a major attack and was in a position to make several pressing attacking moves and he made one - however one move he missed was that he could have forked my king and queen and won instantly - apparently he did not see that and missed the move - later he got a major piece back - then later he resigned

- - - from a philosophical point of view , how do you feel when you win a game where in theorey the other fellow could have should have won it and in a way you did not really win but rather the other guy gave you the game

- so I am kind of working through some muddled thinking here and to muddle it up some more - basically what do you think about and how do you feel when you win a game but during the course of the game you noticed that the other fellow could have won had he not missed a really good pivitol move ?

Well, I guess I'll take it in stride, but try to determine what lead to my own blunders so that I have a chance avoiding such mistakes in the future. The goal would be to get less and less dependent on the other guy not seeing my mistakes ...
