Ok, I do get it that men are supposed to protect women, but that's what equal rights is all about after all. If they don't protect men as well, then why is it a must the other way around? It would be more fair that everyone should protect everyone weaker than themselves. So, as long as the man isn't more powerful, he should not be judged more harshly for hitting a woman than for hitting a man.
