Playing a game of chess?

TVEDAS

I don't remember when exactly did I play my first actual game of chess, but I remember my first encounter with it.

My older brother got in some trouble with my parents and as a punishment he had to teach me the rules of chess. I was barely 5 y.o at the time.. My dad soon noticed that I was interested and took it from there, before giving me to professional coaches when I was 6. 15 years have passed, yet I am only an FM :(

Wow that is an interesting story! Kudos to your dad, that turned out to be an excellent punishment for your brother. :)

SchuBomb

Yes, I do. I was 7, it was on the kitchen table with my mum, she let me finish out on top the first time, but by the second time I knew what I was doing and despite her best efforts, I finished on top again.

Now try reading that (totally accurate, by the way) comment with just the thread title, and not the first post :P

After that I played my older brother, pwned him, then discovered that my dad was decently good at it, and we've been evenly matched (each learning about the same amount) for about 13 years until the last few years, when I have shot ahead again.

I could die today and know at least one person gets me.

:)

Yes

It was with my Dad, him teaching me, and me so overwhelmed with it's awesome set up!

I was 11 years old and only played one yr. because I was getting older and liking the girls and all attention was placed there of my interests.

I would love a "Live" 20 min'r with you Tim, and most assuredly SchuBomb! =p

I know I'm ten months late on this, but that's what she said.
