helltank - I've been a huge fan of horror and haunted house stuff since I was 5. I'm 36 now and after three decades of it, there are still things that even I can't watch.
Back in 2005, a movie came out called "The Exorcism of Emily Rose." I got perhaps less than 10-15 minutes into the movie, when they started talking about the case in court and the flashbacks were happening, I shut off the DVD player and that was that. I was wanting to see the movie for a while and I barely was able to get involved deeply in it. There's been a few flicks that I haven't been able to watch, and the original "The Exorcist" is one of them.
The point is, just play it off. You might get some ribbing and teasing, but just roll with the punches and don't let it get to you. I've gotten poked fun at because of some things horror wise that I haven't been able to watch, but it all went away without too much embarrassment.
I hope that helps.

I'm temporarily using this as a "ask auntie" forum for the heck of it.
Now, here's the gist. My classmates built a Haunted House to raise funds for charity, and we were allowed to go in free. The problem is, I opened the door, took five steps in, absorbed my surroundings, and quickly exited.
Obviously, this is going to cause a truckload of embaressment(heck, it's not even supposed to be THAT scary).
