Chess Tournament Software - Kids

Sort:

Hi, I'm looking for recommendations on a good way to use Chess.com or another software to organize the rankings for an in-person kids chess tournament?

ChessSBM

Sorry, but what exactly you mean by “rankings”?

Maybe brackets is a better term, rather than rankings.

The point is, we are looking for a way to enter the participants and track their wins and losses and bracket them accordingly.

I use https://swissonlinetournament.com/  it is very easy to use and it is free.  Basically determine the type of tournament and drag and drop the player names (use google forms to make it easier to compile a list of players).  Then input the win/losses. It does standings and pairings.   It is online, so you can share the link so people can follow the leader board.  Also, you do not have to install anything.

An example of a correspondence tournament I ran:

https://swissonlinetournament.com/Tournament/Rating/8f966f818ee34d5f93b9ec0bed6942fb

It is not made for complex tournaments, but works well with clubs/schools.

other options:

https://challonge.com/ - single elim, double elim, swiss, round robin, etc.

https://www.swips.eu/en

https://rankade.com/ if you want to rank students within a club (like Elo)

https://home.tornelo.com/ this might be the best option for organizing a tournament. it's free to use. there is a charge only if you use the service to collect registration fees (endorsed by FIDE)

Consider running a chess ladder with ratings done like chess.com. Free software here: https://www.add-ins.com/free-products/chess-ranking-assistant.htm
