Anyway you get to the Denker by earning your state's nomination to go. That's the only way, as it's an invitational. I might add Denker is the Highschool championship btw, so you'd also need to be in 9th-12th grade. The Barber is 6th-8th, the Rockefeller Idk exactly but I guess it's all the other grades

How do you earn an invitation? Do I have to have a good OTB rating?

Nah rating doesn't necessarily matter. Alabama could have sent an 1100 to the Denker, technically. Idk what every state does exactly, but I know Alabama has usually sent the winner of the state scholastic championship. I'd assume it's similar for most states

Yes we do but, I’m from Cali and a resident there. Though on my USCF it shows that I live in Texas due to the fact that our mailing address is there.

Interesting. You are homeschooled I presume?

Yes since 2nd grade but, I am high school age considering the fact that I’ll be 15 in a month.

You said only one person from each state will go. There are multiple states where the best high school age kid will be master level. Just saying.

Could you elaborate on what “Denker” is?

Denker is a tournament that is held in New Jersey I think. One Highschooler from each state will come to represent there state.

never heard of it so idk man

It's pretty well known to people in the US who play tournament chess.

usually the same for every year but the reason why I didn't get sent is cuz of ratings this year ratings did matter

Tip: if you want to get into the denker, don't play in california.

There are very, very hard people there.

Go in Mississippi maybe.
