Strong scholastic programs for kindergartners?

Hey, everyone. My little boy and I play chess regularly and he seems pretty good for a four-year-old -- no long-range planning but decent opening principles, rarely blunders away pieces, and will chortle and happily take the opportunity if I 'accidentally' leave a piece for him to capture. I'm not claiming he's a future Kasparov, but he's been trotting over to me with the chessboard for months now, so his interest seems to have some legs.

I don't like to kvell about my kid so much because it makes me sound like a tool, but he is precocious in a lot of ways, and I want him to be challenged and happy at school -- not miserable like his father was. We've primarily been looking at schools for their math programs, since that's what he really loves, but since he's also into chess, and we're already considering a move -- which primary schools have strong scholastic chess programs?  Anything on par with The Dalton School but not stuck in the middle of Manhattan? Anywhere in the United States or Canada would work.
