I see that. I see that's what's offered now, in advance of Black Friday. I'm just asking if that will be the ONLY Black Friday offer or if, last year, the month trial was offered on the Friday, for example. Wondering if it's worth waiting until Friday, if there might be better to come.

That's the only offer from now until it's over. There's nothing different on the day.
So, just to be clear an annual Diamond membership costs around 40 GBP annually using this discount and the Platinum membership (which would be actually enough for me) is still just shy of 30 GBP. This is still pretty expensive. I was actually looking into it right now but shocked when I calculated the end price. I am very surprised people actually pay these prices, considering the alternatives out there. Would there be a way of reducing the costs by another 50% ?

No, you wouldn't be able to get it for 50% less than the offer. Also, to note, the 50% is for the first term and at the end of the year it would renew at full subscription cost.

Yes, that's what I thought. Not to worry, I think in this case I keep on playing for free and continue using mainly Lichess.org for the most part. Thanks Martin

What did I misunderstand here? A few days ago, I thought a one-year platinum membership, at 50% off, was going to work out to being around 40 or 50 dollars (Canadian). I was sure that's what it said. Now it's saying 50% comes to $8.34 / month when billed yearly. Were prices just doubled or did I misread the price last week?

If you cancel automatic renewal, you should but I'm not entirely familiar how that works, while you're on the trial. So, if that's what you're wanting to do you probably should wait until it converts into a paid membership.
