Daily Tournament Leaderboard Manipulation

There is a group of "players" making a  mockery of the Daily Tournament Leaderboard by setting up or playing in a large quantity of single move checkmate Tournaments.   All players finish tied for first and collect the tournament points.   These players are now dominating the leaderboard. There is absolutely no chess skill involved, just manipulating games to tie for first and collect the rating points.   This ruins the leaderboard for the vast majority of people who want it to reflect actual achievements.  My suggestions would be:

1. Do not award points to players in tournaments with custom positions,

2.  Do not award points in tournaments with less than 10 or so players, limiting the ability of players to win points through quick agreed draws.

3.  Periodically review the history of the top 25-50 players on the leaderboard and remove those who have gamed the system through extensive use of single move checkmate or other abusive techniques.

Thanks, Craig

As far as I know, players who score points in this way receive a well-deserved punishment. But the system cannot always track such violations and therefore you need to write to the support service about each such violator.

I totally agree with you Craig, tourney points have become kind of meaningless. I entered one just to see how it worked and sure enough I made a total of 7 moves and got a gold medal and 81 tourney points. It's the last time I do so as it just seems like a waste of time with no thought involved. I guess those players just like to see their name on a leaderboard.
