INMHO no interval needed .
Interval between rounds in Swiss tourney
I mean that way I can set let say a Swiss tourney, with longer time control
one round (one game) per week, that always start at same day at fixed same time (eg: each Sat evening)

I see . Its not a bad idea but my concern is the difference in UTC zones
Hi @greekindian
The swiss that u currently join
https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/new-open-for-registration-10th-cycle-of-swiss-90m-30s-1-rd-every-2-weeks-start-on-oct-07-2024?page=1
are manually setup, date/time to play is by negotiation between 2 players within 2 weeks timeframe. It is most ideal as participants are from various countries/ continent with different time zone. It require huge amount of work by TD (Tournament Director).
* While the swiss system that I asked in my initial post are
always start at fixed time, weekly (let say). one round (game) every week, long time control (classical), automated pair by system. Require almost zero work for TD. but the real drawback is: players must come & play at fixed time that setup by TD, and starting time can't be fit ideally to players from different countries.
Maybe half early and late rounds like titled Tuesdays? And the early ones have a different automated cycle as the late ones?
There are pros and cons with each. Requiring each pair to find a mutually convenient time is sometimes difficult, but in my experience is usually not a problem. Sometimes my opponent is only free for one hour at the very end of the two week period for some reason, which is very annoying.
Having a set time for everyone to play their rounds is nice from a "I don't have to go through a back-and-forth discussion every round" perspective, but it will probably be difficult to find a consistent time that everyone will be available. At some point you'll have to just pick a reasonable time and if some can't make it, they just won't be able to play. Such is life.
That said, I am willing to try out a new system like this. One thing that is nice about OTB tournaments is that I can just show up and a game will be ready for me without having to negotiate every time.
Regarding Swiss tourney in chess.com
I would like to ask feature of
to set interval between rounds.
it could be minutes, hours and the days. up to a week. This would then make it, possible to have tournaments with longer time limits and rounds starting weekly.
(Rather that currently where a new round starts automatically immediately after all games of the previous round have finished.)
Thank you.
