When the first page of your forums looks like this... You have failed.

Do Better!!

Sir_TrashPanda

You come up with every excuse you can to argue against full time paid moderation and yet filthy garbage like this continues to infest your forums on a regular basis.

I am sick of having to see this disgusting filth in order to report it.

Shouldn't it be the first priority of a mod to check reports of abuse when they logon?

Sir_TrashPanda

This doesn't seem to be working as well as it should...

They (cc) definitely need to seek some type of software that's equipped to immobilized such instantly, damn skippy. Especially considering the technology that is out there, obviously besides the most assuredly hidden technology well over 10 thousand yrs ahead, advanced even what's known as our technology, our society worldwide.

WTFrickenA

that id!ot very easily could be babysh!t

Sir_TrashPanda

Almost an hour of multiple reports and this disgusting filth isn't removed?

Good job mods...

Thats insane. An entire hour of him? Luckily i got off yesterday, but this it inexcusable. I usually defend the mods, as they cant be everywhere at once, but it shpuld not take an HOUR.

checkmated0001

lay off the mods. They take time out of their day to volunteer here, and you should be able to respect that, and that they can't do everything with the time they have. Besides, those don't break any of chess.com's rules, so why are you so upset about it? Just don't open those discussions.

shadowtanuki

The thing that's indefensible about the mods is the way they defend chess.com and do their PR work for them

Bro was so mad when he made the topic that he didn't even spell it right 🤣

shadowtanuki

It starts with allowing so many spam threads...

Ain't a theory when it's logical facts such as

TheMidnightExpress12

That is the reason why i hate commenting on regular forums. Also the trolls bringing up gore images makes me hate it too

shadowtanuki

Don't hate the place, hate the people. Don't hate the people, hate what they do.

WTFrickenA

Definitely despise the action but obviously the person is in need of serious help absolutely

I bet I could do that

David

You would have to not only pay moderators but also have them rostered on a 24/7 hour, 365 days a year basis. Doesn't make sense for the degree that it happens.

This person will eventually get tired of it and go away, as have others before them.

It would get removed quicker if you actually learned how to reach out to the Support teams for an urgent issue. Find out which ones tend to be online at the same time as you and PM them when you see it, that would actually be helpful.

WTFrickenA

Is what I've done when dealing with babysh!t, exactly.

But David... aren't there some kind of new developed softwares equipped to roster this completely, I don't know, like capable of weeding such out while the 24 hr site is available? There's got to be somebody at least attempting to find such software to alleviate this beyond toxic nuisance. Yes???

It does sound like a nice use case: use AI to scan the images posted and if it deems them graphic, put them into some sort of holding area for human review. You'd expect the actual social media sites like Facebook and Instagram to be developing that sort of application for AI - this is a chess site with some forums attached. It's just not subject to the same level of this sort of attack as those places that have actual content moderation teams (not that X has any content moderators any more apart from what Elon personally dislikes)
