didn't make sense to you that the offensive post shouldn't have slipped through in the first place?

With the ever changing list of words being banned who knows how to sanity check their posts?

Can't say hom0. Not even hom0 sapiens, which is how I found that out. Dumb website.

So much for h0mo pride.

Careful, they have now incorporated number replacements for letters as well.

1 for i and 0 for o

Unsure about 5 for s or 8 for B

That's how I got muted trying to report the issue

This site needs a paid mod team. End of story. You can’t give a person a job like this and not pay them when you are making the kind of money that chess.com is making right now

The sad thing is, you can't know which words are forbidden until you post something you think is innocuous, and then bam there goes the whole text you were working on, just vanished with no hope of recovery.

TheRealWilliam2
44 instead of banning every word imaginable, maybe they could just not allow posting images for accounts less than a month old. Seriously, with how easy and efficient such a change would be, it’s baffling they haven’t implemented it yet

No the site wants you to form an unpaid powerless citizen patrol to supplement the unpaid powerless mods who appeal to the paid overlords. Pack up. You're drafted

48 at this point, it wouldn’t even surprise me if they made a tier below mod that has even less authority instead of giving the existing mods more

perhaps you hadn't heard of the community defenders?

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/community-defender

they used to have a group - unsure what happened. @ronaldjosephcote would know

I'm going to have to hear that story at second-hand, apparently.

TheRealWilliam2
#50 I just read the thread and it’s hilarious that that even was considered a role. Literally no authority, it’s like those random accs who think they are mods or “mod helpers” but officially recognized by cc, that’s just hilarious
TheRealWilliam2
51 don’t bother. Basically, it meant you report trolls whenever you see them… so literally what every user does naturally. I don’t know what cc staff were smoking when they made that role

Ron is a good guy. Used to say the weirdest stuff but seems more reserved now. unfortunately his troll radar goes off too quickly sometimes

Same for hess/Larry. Probably misunderstood and kicked you off the nothing thread. But then again it was probably nothing.

I was spending too much of my time doing nothing anyway

@david was a mod before and a good guy too but seems to have carried over and transferred his disdain for trolls into the rest of the community for some strange reason.

What happened David?

Besides, I can do nothing anywhere

my interactions with the mod went south during the "frustrated" days. if i remember correctly, he recommended me being banned then.

i have the lowest regard for him.

i've had about five topics asking similar questions about staff being absent and useless kid stuff being implemented while functionality and adult supervision suffer.

they don't care.

It still doesn't make sense to me. It's a quote in a report not a post. How is the moderator supposed to have a sense of urgency if the post has been sanitized? Why don't you just hand the trolls the keys to the city while you're at it? Your idea is part of the problem. Not a solution.
