There are removed as soon as they're seen. Short of disabling basic accounts access to posts, or requiring some kind of payment for account authorization, it's going to be mostly reactive.

Yeah I've seen they've been getting banned another thing they could do is have new accounts is wait for like a few days or a week before they can comment, reply, chat, or make forums/posts. to help limit them

Someone that's a motivated abuser will just stockpile accounts and do the same thing with minimal limits

RDkhanna

is there any way to set a minimum that an email has been made to make an account and then restrict commenting for a month then ai spots bad words and images then you have to prove that u r not a bot while MAKING forums(not commenting)(and since his main focus is making forums)and the original person can be a page mod and can dlete posts for approopriatereasons

if someone dletes for wrong reason it ends their ability

it may also be nice to restrict theno of forums amde in a day (like 1 or 2)

That is fair a point there, there could also be a Verification before creating forums and so they can't stack accounts make it so there cant be multiple accounts made on one email, even though like you say a Motivated abuser could create a new email and do that but for even more security there could be a IP blockade where you could only make one account on an IP at an time and remove the ability to use a VPN on chess.com

Accounts already require unique email addresses.

As to VPNs, an IP is an IP and while there are known VPN endpoints, any IP could potentially be a VPN. It's not as simple as it sounds

The site certainly could force it so new accounts couldn't post at all for a period of time, or could post but all posts would enter a moderation queue to be approved until an account was older. It would also really require post edits to also for through a moderation queue.

That latter method would certainly eliminate most quick spam accounts and many opportunistic abusers. More problematic ones might still play the long game and just wait it out. That also would require quite a bit of coding work and sufficient staffing of a moderation queue to not deter new legitimate members from wanting to be members.

This situation is completely out of control. It's time for CC to stop making excuses and do something!! How would you like it if your grandchildren saw these images here? It's outrageous that CC is not taking immediate corrective action, even if it means resorting to extreme measures! You are allowing someone to post some of the most disturbing snuff "pawn" out there! There's no way I would renew my membership with this not fixed. DO SOMETHING NOW!!!

@Martin_Stahl

It's going on RIGHT NOW!! As I'm typing this, some of the most disturbing images are being posted in OTF where the majority of users are CHILDREN! Does someone need to bring in the media to have this addressed? Maybe the NY Times would like to do a story about this...

I'll check now

I agree. I'm glad someone is indignant about this, as I am. It's happened every day for a couple of weeks, and I've already canceled the renewal of my account. I hope cc faces serious consequences from their users for their negligence, but unfortunately the users being mostly affected are children, and they need an advocate.
