Additional information in "A new Team Match message"

Sort:
Defacto

This is a match with :

Rating Range: 1500 - 1799

but you dont see that in message. Since every team member gets this message it would be practical to have that information in there too. That way players who got too high or low rating wouldnt need to try to join match that they cant.

Sorry for bold font but i cant correct it. Also extreemly important DO NOT PRESS From: CHESScom link something is wrong with it...It gets "funky".

It will be good if chess.com sends the Team Match Notifications only to those members whom can join & all the admins. Why should <2000 Player get the notification for a team match for 2000+ players?

Defacto

I was thinking about that too....but my solution is simpler for start. Later they could do that...It takes little programing(really little). Some people will have their rating changed during registration period and they should get that message too.

shajian, you are asking

Why should <2000 Player get the notification for a team match for 2000+ players?

A player rated 1990 will usually be interesting in receiving the notification for a 2000+ team match, because he might be able to take part in it as soon as he manages to win a game that brings his rating above 2000 before the match starts.

So my answer is very similar to Defacto's :

Ratings change, so notifications can also be of interest to players whose current rating does not match the required range.

A player rated 1990 gets notification for 2000+ Match. He can not join. Later if he rating becomes 2000+ he has to go to his messages and search for this particular message. Instead he can go to the Team Matches section and join.... Which one is better....

If we want this option, at least we can avoid sending notifications for 1700 rated player right? Chess.com can decide some limit, say + or - 250 points.

I hope the team match messages for the players under 1500 (for example) don't send to the players above 1500.  Why waste site space and the CPU of the servers?    We don't want our members to receive too many team match messages for the matches that they can't join.     Cool

I liked more old Site Feedback & Suggestions where all was in 1 therad. That way you know that chess.com staff is reading all these posts...
