custom setup against friends

It would be nice if a new feature were introduced that allows you to play custom setup unrated games against friends. It would be a cool way to practice certain positions or end games or to just play around in unlikely scenarios for fun. Can anything be done at all ? Well done on the app btw it's great

You can do that with the Analysis Board setup in Live Chess. You can set up any position. You can make it invite only so that only your friend(s) could see it. You can have the board keep score and make sure moves are legal.

You would be the admin of the board. I think that only admins have control of the board. I am not sure if invited viewers can make moves or if you can enable that.  If not, you can switch to make your friend the admin when it is their turn.

Thank for the swift reply. I don't seem to have that option on the iPhone app ... Is it perhaps something you can only do from the actual chess.com website using a laptop ?

Yes, the phone apps are limited in functionality.

I don't seem to see this option, where is the analysis board option available in live chess?

I'm not sure if anybody found a solution for this but as of now you can play with custom setup
Play > Play Computer > choose Position > Custom setup

Hope this helps, Cheers!

Any new solutions to do that ? I wanted to play chess with my wife when she is far away.... playing our unfinished game which we had no record of moves.... just a still photo....

we need chess.co to make something like this
