There's currently a Mark all forum topics as READ link. Would you want to be able to mark ALL messages as unread - or only specific ones? Are you referring to messages or posts?

hiya artfizz, i'm referring only to messages i recieve, i can read them and then forget to reply that's all, if i could mark them somehow as unread then i wouldn't forget where i was up to the next day Innocent

I wouldn't be too sure about that! It's precisely because Hotmail can manage it that Erik resists 'reinventing the wheel'.

What you can do is: send a message to yourself, reminding you to deal with certain other messages. When you've dealt with them, delete your reminder.

Would you want the alert to come back as well?

The framework for marking as unread is already in place: you can mark individual messages. They would just need to add a MARK AS UNREAD button alongside the existing DELETE button.

yes i don't think it would be too difficult to stick a 'mark as unread' option next to the delete button. also might be an idea to have an option of a different timezone for when the message was received, all mine are currently 8 hours behind the actual time they were sent. maybe a central european time could be an option?
