Every time I login to chess.com I'm automatically signed into chess chat, which incidentally has ads built in. Part of the reason I paid for my membership is to avoid ads -- so every time I log in, I've made it a habit of signing off of chess chat, in order to hide the Meebo bar.
I have no problem with chess chat itself, just the ads and oversized bar at the bottom of my screen. To remedy this situation, I propose chess.com implement either or both of these suggestions:
1. Allow users to hide the Meebo bar without first signing off chess chat.
2. Save user preferences (auto sign-in on login, auto hide on login) to the user's account settings, instead of caching them for the current browser session.
