Tactics Trainer option for lower rated puzzles

It would be an interesting option for Tactics Trainer if you could set it to allow lower rated puzzles to be given and not just those near your current rating level.

I'm finding that there are a number of lower rated puzzles that I have trouble with and it would be nice if I could increase the lower end of the range that the trainer would provide. I really don't care if the much lower rated ones don't give rating points in the trainer, or only give points if I'm within x points of the puzzle, it's just that I know I'm missing some puzzles that would help point out weaknesses in my play/calculation for me to work on.

As a quick example, at my highest rating I was in the 1800s when playing 3 a day and now that I've been playing more, my ratings have fluctuated all over the place. However, I'm still missing many in the lower ranges that I probably should be getting but when my rating jumps up, I don't see those anymore. Or might not I guess, could always go down again.

The way for a tactic tool to work best, is when it gives you all kind of puzzles, not only around your strength. So this one stinks if it can't do that...

Hopefully.

From what I can tell it only gives you puzzles within maybe +/- 100 points from your current rating (I haven't been tracking but it feels that way). If it is coded in that way, as a hard range, it shouldn't be that hard to modify it to instead query a preference value from the players tactics settings.

I imagine it wouldn't be a priority fix but one I would find the most useful for the trainer to have.

Though I guess the easier fix would be for me to get better at tactics Tongue out

This is what I was talking about elsewhere, Martin.  You can find lower ones; it just takes forever.  Go to Tactics Trainer, View Problems -- and then keep clicking. :((

OK, it has been pointed out to me that you can set up the Tactics Trainer to unrated mode and set your rating range. So I can practice that way but I would still like to see it set so that you can do the same in rated mode (low/no rating change for solving puzzles rated a lot lower than your current TT rating)
