2024 Daily Chess Championship
I will be playing in the daily chess championship this year for the first time. Problem is, I only have like 30 minutes to 1 hour a day to focus on daily chess due to school and studying for OTB. I also wish to use these daily games to try to improve my skills over the board (the last time I played daily I spent days on each move, but I eventually timed out, and also I felt analyzing on a real board too much hurt my thinking process over the board). As I’m unrated in daily chess and will be started at 1600, I will be probably the top seed in round 1. Does anyone have any tips of how I could perform my best, learn the most I can from the games, and hopefully advance?
Earlier today I replied to this, but then realized it was crap, because I'd completely missed the point of your post. So, I deleted the comment. My apologies. Now, I'm trying again.
If the point of playing in the tournament is to practice for OTB, play the games like they are OTB. Don't take a long time on each game, because OTB you wouldn't take a long time. Do all your analysis in your head, to practice. I think it's OK to set the position up on a real board, but don't do any moving the pieces around to analyze.
Another thing I'd recommend is after each move, write down what you were thinking. Then, when you have time, review the games. Take a look at what you were thinking and find out what you missed and what you got right.
Here's my "out of thin air" advice: focus on points when you missed things in even positions. It is way more important to figure out how to avoid gettnig into hot water, than it is to understand what to do in a losing position. The inverse is true of winning positions.
Have fun and good luck.
Chris
I'm confused what happens after we signed up
You'll get a number of games showing up in your daily play list. There will be up to 22 (?) total, you're playing the 11 other player in your group; once as white, once as black. Only the top players advances.

Is this allowed to use "Game review" on a completed match or does it count as the "use of engine" if you didn't ended all your games ?

I'm say that if it wasn't allowed, they'd make it unavailable. Be aware that other people in the tournament can see your games as well.

Using game review is fine. You just can't use an engine on a game in progress. You can do it even if not all your games have ended.
Hi Guys,
We have created a 2-day tournament that you can find in the daily tournament when searching for
Masters of the Board: KBJR Championship League I
We need some more players before the tournament starts and there will likely be made more of this tournament later on (thus being named "I"). Please feel free to sign up on that tournament as well. I believe it should be a suitable solution for you who feel like you have no time for 1-day tournaments? I struggle with the same when i am on travel in my job; some days i am simply not able to make moves, and this is when two days tournaments are perfect as they are waay faster than 3 day tournaments at least.

The analysis is broken on one my games. It's stuck on a previous position that I saved, and now won't let me analyze the current position?? Can't figure out how to clear it...
Hi, is it allowed to build the game on a real chess board and to visualize it.
