Are the tournaments impossible to play?

I wish to share my experience with you to see if it is a common occurence. I joined during the weekend the all day blitz tournament 3+0, and i was amongst the highest rated there, my rating was 2100 (i was gravitating around that rating, just below it, for a while) so i was paired quite a few times with 1400s-1600s. I got destroyed half the times. In some games my openings where pretty drawish but let's be real this only matters when gms play amongst themselves. Ok in some games i blundered and ¬1500s are quite capable to see a simple fork but in at least 10 games i was just outplayed to the point where i really thought something was wrong... Just for the sake of my mind, is it just me?
