Survival Chess Tournament

Sort:
Waterstone33

Hello. I am going to be hosting a new format for chess tournaments. It is simple, stay in the game. You must score a certain amount of points to advance to the next round, and if you do not, you are eliminated. Your points are retained for each round, so if you score 7 points in the first round, you keep those 7 for the next round, and the one after that, etc... I am hosting a private variation of this in my club, so please be sure to check it out, but you need to participate in some tournaments in order to join. Link to it (if your curious): https://www.chess.com/club/good-chess-3

Rules for the games:

10+0 (unless another time control is agreed upon mutually, and in which I need to see proof from both players)

10 Games per Round (unless specified before the round starts)

You need to play those 10 people in the colour specified to be played in for a game to be valid.

Games will be unrated.

Tiebreakers will be determined later.

Both players need to submit the same game in order for it to be official.

If you sign up, you agree to these terms.

If you do break these terms, you may be automatically eliminated.

Registration is down below if you are interested in joining! If you are interested in helping to host this tournament, please specify. Thank you, and have a good day.

I need players. If I do not get enough, then I can't start it.

i have a doubt

so if there are 10 players and the cutoff is 6 or higher, then everyone has a single round robin; people with 6 or more points advance and get to keep their points, then have another single round robin?

Hoping to have more than just 10...
I will make a blog with more info, and demonstrations to illustrate the rules. I will send it to you (unless you ask to have it not sent) when it is completed.

One, I guess this post is a bump (Ig)

Two, If we do not receive at least 20 PEOPLE for this tournament, I am canceling both of them. This idea will rot in my rejected ideas pile for all of eternity.

great idea but way to complicated sad.png

Waterstone33

I tried to make it as easy to understand as possible in my example.

And it's only as complicated as it needs to be.
