Tournament suggestions??

i want to play and get better but just playing normal games makes it boring and tedious ,i wanna participate in tournaments to make it interesting and hopefully get better ,but the general tournaments which i see are not rewarding because I mostly play against lower rates players and there is no real reward , anyone have suggestions
