I enjoy: Bicycling, swimming, tai-chi, reading, Star Trek, The Simpsons, card games, board games, my cat, and my wife. (Not necessarily in that order.) I dislike: Emergency surgery and mean people. I played chess in high school and was better than average. I was undefeated in inter-scholastic play, but never played first or second table. In the intervening 20 or so years, my game has gotten rusty, but I'm becoming interested again. I make lots of blunders, but am slowly improving. I am more comfortable reading old-style chess notation. When I'm white, I usually open with p-k4. As black, I open with p-qb4 or n-kb3.
