Welcome! I am MasterShark19, a 14 y/o chess nerd who wants to improve every day!

In March 2021, I created my first chess account, Mastershark19. I never used it, and since it used my school email address, I decided to start over with this account in May 2023.

I mostly played chess at the time because I wasn't doing anything productive during summer break, and I just wanted a hobby to pass the time.
Chess was perfect, and I would begin playing every day. I started at an elo of 546, but through determination and consistency, I quickly rose the ranks and made it to 900 elo, where I encountered my first plateau. I crossed 1000 elo after three months.
I took a long break after crossing 1000 Elo, and when I returned to chess, I quickly increased my score from 1000 Elo to 1300.

So, using the same method, I took another break, but this time, I studied chess openings, middlegames, and endgames. When I came back, I was quickly up from 1300 to 1600!

Crossing from 1600 to 1700 was the most complex challenge I have faced. It felt like I studied and analyzed for hours, but I wasn't getting anywhere! Until I finally made it. And when I crossed 1700, it only took me 10 days to reach 1800. Chess is something else.

2 months after hitting 1800, I reached 1900 elo, and I am only 100 points from my dream of 2000 rapid chess! Some day I hope to obtain the ultimate goal of 2600 rapid chess.
