GM Anna Muzychuk Hosts Chess Event For Kids To Support Ukraine
Chess.com and ChessKid are collaborating with GM Anna Muzychuk in order to support the people of Ukraine, who continue to suffer the effects of the Russian invasion of their country.
On Tuesday, May 17 at 9 a.m. Pacific/12 p.m. Eastern/18:00 CET, the three-time world champion will play up to 15 simultaneous games with ChessKid or Chess.com members aged 18 or under.
This special exhibition will be fully online, with commentary by ChessKid’s FunMasterMike, and will be viewable on Chess.com/TV or twitch.tv/chesskid.
In order to secure a spot, a minimum donation of $100 USD is required. For an additional $50, a special video of your game (similar to this example) will be made.
I am Ukrainian and every Ukrainian person has been affected by the war. In these difficult days all of us have to help each other. Therefore, I'm glad that my participation in such events can help Ukrainian citizens and Ukrainian children. I'd like to support those whose lives and childhood were destroyed. — GM Anna Muzychuk
Register for a spot here to help the people of Ukraine by participating in this exclusive online event. It’s also possible to donate through this link, even if you are personally unable to participate. All proceeds will go to Muzychuk's selected charity, the Tvoya Opora Foundation.
Past ChessKid events to help Ukraine have included private classes, streams, and special NFTs. These efforts have raised over $6,000 USD for the people of Ukraine.
Note: all players of the simul must be aged 18 or under, with a rating under 1800 FIDE or US Chess (an official rating is not required, however). ChessKid and Chess.com members competing will be recorded on camera to ensure fair play.
