I went to school to be a pastor, earning a BA in Religious Studies and a Master in Divinity.  I was let go by the church I served and my denomination because of politics, and now I wander, not online as much as I used to because I do not have a set home.  But I wander trying to make a difference for others, traveling the entire Appalachian Trail in 2024, working at scout camps, and dabbling in teaching.  Even when things don't go the way you planned, you can still make a difference.

Scouting America and interacting with youth in our schools is a thrill for me.  This is what truly brings me joy each day.  I earned my Eagle Scout on December 15, 2010 and am proud to work and interact with the young members of our nation.

I learned chess in grade school but I had a break from it until late high school, when I joined this site and a chess club and began playing seriously.  I created a chess club in college, of which I served as its founding president for two years.  As I could not continue playing chess in person much, I have laid my commitments out on this site, where I seriously commit to teams and help to build them over time.

This is one of my favorite checkmates here on chess.com: https://www.chess.com/daily/game/214340082
