Rockville Chess Meetup

This chess club is for chess players interested in playing chess in the Rockville, Maryland, USA area, or for people who might be interested in traveling there  at some point but who are interested in online interactions as well. Rockville isn't St. Louis, but chess is alive and well in the city.  We host the Chesapeake Open.  Nothing to sneeze at. 

Our club offers rated over the board games, un-rated over the board games, and in person chess lessons.  For unrated games we flagrantly violate the no-talking rule of tournament chess. After a bad move has been played, by all means let the other player know about it so they can improve from their mistakes on the spot instead of when they barely remember what happened.  If you realize you made a bad move, feel free to ask for a takeback. If you are much better than your opponent, offer to remove a few pieces before the game starts.

All ages and abilities are welcome.  As a social club, please BYOB.  (Board, not beer!)
