I love the game, but have just recently started playing again. I lost my dad back in 2009 and things have took a few turns for the worse , you might say. But chess has remained a real friend. There is no short way to state what I like about this game; I like it all. It's lingo, history, legends, generational bridge, computer play, can not be mastered, gauge your strength, raise kids grades in other studies,etc....I can remember my first chess book; it was Garry Kasparov's Checkmate. I bought it in the fourth grade while at a parent/teacher meeting. My first board was an electronic one and I flat wore the sucker out.It finally just froze up on me.

Years ago, I used to play under a different name (Time2c). Somebody out there might remember me. But I got tired of some of the bad sports. I found it sort of sad that some people only cared about the W and not about how well they played or about studying why they lost. Being able to click more times does not make you a champion of chess.Perhaps it might in your own mind.

You know, life can be a real mystery.Back in high school, I was a rebellious teen, who did not like school.I struggled with simple remedial math, but fourteen years later, I passed college algebra.I even liked it to begin with.Life is funny! In elementary school, I got bullied. But in high school, I walloped a guy who had called a friend of mine a bad name.I even chased down a burglar some years ago. This illegal had broke into my sisters home one afternoon and collected a bag of belongings. But when he got noticed , the jig was up. I had just finished walking a couple of miles when the chase began and by the time that it was over, I did not even have the strength to walk back to my house.I must say though , the guy did not look to happy sitting in the back of that patrol car. Life is funny! And when I got a chance to become a seafood manager, I grabbed it. This is inspite of the fact that I don't eat much fish.Well, for getting out of my comfort zone, I was able to pay off a nice little ford truck. It would be easy to go through life playing it safe, but where's the fun and adventure in that. Life is to be lived , not endured.
