I love to play chess, both here and OTB. I've been playing for over 50 years. I really like chess books and I get as much enjoyment of studying a quality game as I do playing. You'll see my ratings have a wide disparity depending on the time control... the quality of my play declines significantly as the time I have to think gets shorter (and the converse is true, which might explain my performance in 'online' chess).

I purchased a basic Chess.com subscription so I can do more than 3 tactics problems/day.  I really like this site but the Vacation option is a serious design flaw.  Time controls would be better implemented via a "time bank" system similar to those used on other sites.
