Hey I'm 14 started playing chess about 2 years, ago when my grandpa taught me. Played for about 4 months strong then quit for a year or so. I just started playing again a couple of days ago so go easy on me Rubikon29: attacking and defensice concepts understand when to trade and what does the position call for, you have to remember that your trying to gain a tempo back from white when your black. Rubikon29: You have to know when to trade and when not to, does it benefit me or not, where will the game go when everything is traded, what kind of pawn structure will i have chessplayer09: o ok c i dnt think much about how its going to affect me in the end of the game Rubikon29: the opening leads to the early middle, the early middel leads to the late middle and then the late middle goes into the end game so you have to prepare for each stage of the game. chessplayer09: ok i understand
