Cover letter
I am Oleg Orlov, an enthusiastic chess player and coach.
My first interest to chess came to me when I was five, six years later I was awarded candidate chess master title, at 21 I became a FIDE Master. Along my professional path, I participated in numerous championships and tournaments becoming a finalist and prize-winner. At the same time I displayed my interest in coaching. For years I have been training and coaching players from 3 to 60. Among them are winners for boys in categories U10 and on rapid chess U13, for girls in category U15.
My in-depth understanding of a chess play and unique methods of coaching make my sessions inspiring for students. At the lessons we analyze the game, improve calculation and positional understanding, learn openings and endgame, and a lot more. My method of training is aimed at solving problems, then a player gets solid skills and algorithms in making decisions. We borrow evergreen chess games from greatest champions, analyze them, make a decision and, perhaps, go further beyond. The lesson is split into three parts: problem solution, analysis of a game, and a practical game. If suitable, a student may be given a home task.
It will be my pleasure to share my skills and experience with those of keen interest in chess playing whatever their age or skills are. Everybody is most welcome.
