Oriental and East India Clubs Chess Society
The Oriental Club situated at 11 Stratford Pl in London was established by senior officers of the East India Company in 1824. The East India Club situated at 16 St James's Square in London was later established also for the officers of the East India Company in 1849. With a shared history, both clubs today have a combined chess society (ORI/EIC) and play in the Hamilton-Russell London Chess circle.
